Bristow Group Inc. has announced two contract extensions with ConocoPhillips to support its air transportation crew change, shuttle, and search-and-rescue services for the Greater Ekofisk Area in the North Sea.

Bristow has been ConocoPhillips’s aviation partner for more than 20 years. The current two contracts began September 1, 2014, and the extension runs through August 31, 2024, with additional option years available.

Bristow explains it will use two S-92 all-weather, search and rescue (SAR) service helicopters based at the ConocoPhillips Ekofisk Lima platform. The operator explains this platform is located in the heart of the Ekofisk field, approximately 160 nautical miles from the Bristow main base at Stavanger Airport in Sola, Norway.

Additionally, Bristow’s Stavanger base will continue to use three oil-and-gas configured S92 helicopters in its existing fleet to support the crew change flights to and from the Ekofisk field.

Providing 24/7 SAR service to the Greater Ekofisk Area, Bristow’s global fleet supports operations in Nigeria and the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, in addition to the North Sea; as well as in most of the other major offshore oil and gas producing regions of the world, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Guyana and Trinidad.
